Raptors VS Heat Picks

On Saturday night the Miami Heat defeated the Toronto Raptors by a narrow margin, taking the three-point victory at home. The Heat largely benefitted off a massive second quarter that saw them outscore the Raptors 33-17, creating a deficit the Raps ultimately could not overcome.

While the Raptors showed plenty of fight, clawing their way back from the large lead of the Heat, they still weren’t able to get the job done dropping their second straight game. The bigger story on this matchup however came from the physical altercations largely instigated by the Heats Caleb Martin.

After delivering a hard foul on a fast-break to Scottie Barnes, Martin would continue to mix it up with the Raptors that would eventually result in a full-blown tackle (great form to his credit) to rookie Christian Koloko. As a result both Martin and rookie Nikola Jovic would receive one-game suspensions as a result of the extracurricular activities.

During the second quarter of this game, the Raptors would suffer a major blow to their lineup as last seasons Rookie of the Year, Scottie Barnes would leave the game after an apparent ankle injury. Both teams enter tonight’s matchup missing key players from their lineup, only time will tell who can bounce back effectively and secure the win as a result.

In a game with plenty on the line, be sure to get some skin in on the game and place a wager using one of our best bets on the Raptors VS Heat.

Moneyline/Point Spread Pick: Toronto Raptors (ML/+3.5)

Losing one of your top players is a huge blow for any team, but the Raptors “next man up” mantra has served them well in the past as they have a proven track record of bouncing back and playing through adversity. Things will not be any different on the road against the Heat as this game will certainly be personal.

The Raptors showed they were a step ahead of the Heat in the second half, putting the Heat on their heels as they stormed back from the big gap on the scoreboard. If the Raptors can carry this momentum and repeat their performance from the second-half, this should be the Raps game to lose.

With spectacular play from Precious Achiuwa, look for him to have an increased role in tonight’s matchup as he looks to not only get revenge for the loss on Saturday but also personally after being traded away from the Heat in the Kyle Lowry sign-and-trade.

The definite X-Factor for the Raptors if they want to walkout of FTX Arena victorious will be the performance of Fred VanVleet. VanVleet had a rough outing in their last game, only scoring seven-points on 2-9 shooting from the field. While his defence and playmaking abilities were still on display, the Raptors are going to need to see more from Steady Freddy in order to get the win on the road.

Look for the Raptors to find redemption and get their revenge after a chippy loss on Saturday, bouncing back in the face of adversity and getting back into the win column as a result. Bet the Raptors to win, or cover a thin 3.5-point spread against the Heat.

Over/Under Pick: Over 215 Points

The Over hit in their first matchup after a total of 221 points were scored and all indications point towards the Over once again being the winning wager for all NBA bettors.

With Scottie Barnes and Caleb Martin out for tonight’s matchup, both sides are losing one of their most reliable defenders. Both Barnes and Martin are great two-way players and while the offence may be replaceable, both sides will need to find a way to make up for the missing defensive efficiency.

On top of that, neither team truly hit their offensive potential in the first matchup with top scorers on both sides fell flat. As already mentioned, All-Star point guard Fred VanVleet had an uncharacteristic night shooting the ball, while reigning Sixth Man of the Year, Tyler Herro only managed to chip in 14-points on solid shooting splits.

With the feeling out process over and done with, look for both teams to come out swinging in this matchup, putting the ball in their go-to scorers hands as both teams desperately try to avoid falling to 1-3. Bet the Over in tonight’s showdown between the Raptors and Heat, and secure the bag on what’s sure to be a scrap-filled contest.

Best NBA Player Prop Bets

On top of placing bets on the outcome of the Raptors VS Heat, get even more in-depth with your wagers by placing player prop bets. Player props are centered around an indiviudals performance, rather than the outcome of the game itself.

Whether it’s a point, assist, or rebound total, or something more rare such as a player to record a triple double, there’s no shortage of bets to be placed on NBA player prop bets. Find the best player props for the Raptors VS Heat below and place your next winning bet today.

Pascal Siakam First Basket Scorer

The top dog on the Raptors roster, Pascal Siakam has picked up where he left off last season, continuing to play at an All-NBA level. Through the first three games of the season, Siakam is averaging an impressive 27.7 points per game, showing no signs of slowing down.

Able to score at all three levels, Siakam is a great bet as a first basket scorer. Scoring the first basket of the game in two of the Raptors three games played so far this season, Siakam starts hot out of the gate and doesn’t look back.

Back Siakam to open the scoring for tonight’s tilt, earning you a speedy payday in the process.

Jimmy Butler Under 24.5 Points

The heart-and-soul of the Miami Heat team, Jimmy Butler has looked great so far this season. Able to lead his team in any statistical category on any given night, Butler is the Heat’s go to scorer. While Butler may have the green light from Head Coach Erik Spoelstra, the Under on Butlers point total is a fantastic bet to make on the Raptors VS Heat.

So far this season, Butler has scored 24 points twice, but has failed to break the 25 point mark thus far. Last season, Butler only scored over 25 points in 20 of his 57 games played, demonstrating this isn’t a point total he matches very often.

In a matchup against a team that excels at picking on the opposing teams top players, limiting them in offensive production, look for Butler to have lower scoring numbers then he had in their previous game, falling short of the 24.5 point line set by oddsmakers.

Butler is a top talent in the NBA, but tonight back him to underperform, take the Under on Butlers point total.
