In a clash between NFC East opponents, the Eagles look to earn the first 9-0 start to the NFL season since the 2020 Pittsburgh Steelers with a win at home over the Washington Commanders. The Eagles are beginning to run away with the league standings and continue to validate their status as possible Super Bowl favourites.

Last week the Eagles continued their winning ways on primetime, defeating the Houston Texans 29-17 on Thursday Night Football. While the Texans put up a great fight, the Eagles easily cruised to victory and kept their 2022 record unblemished.

On the other side of tonight’s contest, the Washington Commanders haven’t gotten off to the start they were hoping for. With the quarterback carousel continuing to churn in Washington as well as plenty of off-field drama surrounding ownership of the team, the Commanders still only sit one game back from .500. Looking to pull off the major upset on primetime, the Commanders seek to earn a pivotal win on the season.

Moneyline/Point Spread Pick: Philadelphia Eagles (ML/-10.5)

In tonight’s primetime game, we are backing the Eagles to fly high and reach new heights, securing the win and continuing the longest undefeated streak in franchise history. The Commanders still have several kinks to work out on their roster and will have a tough time competing against the elite-Eagles squad.

Offensively, this may be one of the easiest matchups quarterback Jalen Hurts and company will face this season. The Eagles offence has excelled this season, mixing up their play-calling well between the run and the pass, able to gash defences in numerous ways.

Facing a Commanders defence that has failed to live up to expectations, the Eagles should have little to no trouble in pushing the ball downfield. The Commanders biggest asset defensively comes from their pass rush, but with a superb Eagles offensive line, don’t expect them to break through the protection as Hurts keeps his jersey clean.

Back the Eagles to run up the score against the Commanders, securing the win and covering the double-digit spread as they improve to 9-0, while the Commanders drop to 4-6.

While the Eagles will have no trouble finding the end zone against the Commanders, the point total in this matchup will largely depend on quarterback Taylor Heinicke’s ability to lead his team down the field and hitting paydirt against a fierce Eagles defence.

The Commanders offence has been subpar this season, sitting in the bottom-six of points scored per game, failing to utilize their dynamic playmakers and skill position players. There is still hope here for the Commanders offence, as in the past three weeks they have improved their scoring averages and looked like a stable offensive unit.

Don’t expect the Commanders to be held in check all game, look for them to break off big plays in tonight’s contest and do their share in helping the Over hit on Monday Night Football.
