Monday Night Football Week 7 Picks

Both teams enter Monday night with a chance to turn their seasons around. The New England Patriots are riding high on a two-game win streak where they won their matchups in decisive fashion, pummeling their opponents on the offensive end thanks to the fantastic quarterback play of fourth-round draft pick, Bailey Zappe.

While the Patriots have started looking like a formidable force on offence, the Chicago Bears have had a tumultuous season on the offensive end. Quarterback Justin Fields has been lacklustre this season, behind sloppy protection from his offensive line and poor play from his wide receiving core.

Yet, the Bears season isn’t over as their defence has kept them within striking distance on a weekly basis. If the Bears can begin to get the ball rolling offensively, they could find themselves back in the playoff hunt, but first they need to secure a victory over the Patriots.

Moneyline/Point Spread Pick: New England Patriots (ML/-8)

Since having Bailey Zappe take the reigns of the Patriots offence in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers after injuries to first and second string quarterbacks Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer, Zappe has elevated the play of his team tremendously, arguably the best their offence has looked since Tom Brady was under centre.

Heading into a matchup with the Chicago Bears, this will be Zappe’s first true test as an NFL quarterback, facing one of the best defences in the NFL. With a strong front-seven and speedy corners, the Bears will be a tough matchup for the rookie quarterback to play against, but if he can continue his stellar play, the score will quickly grow lopsided.

The biggest factor in this game in favour of the Pat’s, is their defence. Sporting one of the top defences in the NFL in their own right, the Patriots have suffocated opposing offences with great pass-rushing ability, as well as terrific game planning largely in thanks to the gifted mind of Head Coach Bill Belichick.

The Bears have found next to no resemblance of offensive success this season, their highest scoring outing coming against the Houton Texans in Week 3 where they scored 23 points. The Patriots are set to overwhelm and dominate the Bears on defence, holding them to a minuscule amount of points in the matchup.

Look for this game to be a one-sided affair, as the Patriots dominate the Bears, covering the hefty eight-point spread, and securing their third-straight victory in the process.

Over/Under Pick: Under 40 Total Points

As mentioned already, points are going to be at a premium in this matchup. While the Patriots have been on a tear as of late, the Bears are coming off a primetime matchup where they only managed to score seven points against a mediocre Washington Commanders defence.

The Patriots defence is a fierce unit in the NFL, allowing the seventh fewest points against per game (18.8) as well as tied for 6th in the NFL in total sacks (11). With an impressive resume the Pat’s defence is set to get to Justin Fields plenty in this game and force him into uncomfortable situations in passing sets.

The Patriots are set to go up early in this matchup and maintain the lead from start to finish, controlling possession and draining the clock, running the ball down the throats of the Bears defence. The Bears D are no pushovers however, and won’t allow the Patriots to walk all over them.

Look for the Patriots scoring numbers to drop in comparison to the recent high volume output they have produced in recent weeks, making the Under on this Monday Night Football game a fantastic bet.

Best Monday Night Football Player Prop Bets

Aside from the main NFL betting markets on the games outcome, there are plenty of money making wagers to be placed on the Bears VS Patriots on Monday Night Football.

Player props are a great way to get some skin in on the game, wagering on the performances of your favourite players in order to score you your next winning bet. Find our top player prop bets for tonight’s primetime matchup below.

Justin Fields Under 0.5 Passing Touchdowns

Tied for the league-lead in total sacks allowed with 23 on the season, the Bears have allowed first-round pick Justin Fields to get mauled in the backfield every time he steps foot on the field.

With poor protection surrounding their franchise quarterback, Fields has struggled to pass the ball downfield, resulting in five interceptions thrown, tied for fifth most in the NFL, as well as having the worst completion percentage in the NFL at 54.8%.

Look for the Patriots aggressive defence to take Fields out of the game and neutralize him from passing the ball, resulting in Fields throwing zero touchdown passes as a result.

Jakobi Meyers Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Emerging in a breakout year, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is on-pace for a career best season. With over 50 receiving yards in all four games played this season, Meyers has been a reliable number-one target for the Patriots this season.

Finding the end zone for the first time this season in Week 5 against the Detroit Lions, with plenty of targets coming his way, Meyers is a great bet for an anytime touchdown scorer. With his explosion in productivity, facing a Bears defence that can be susceptible to the pass, look for Meyers to hit paydirt, and score you a win on Monday Night Football.
