Standard Bets

Regardless if you’re new to betting on the NFL or consider yourself an experienced football handicapper, you can never go wrong wagering on the traditional bet markets like moneylines, point spreads, and point totals.

Below you can find our picks for the Colts VS Broncos matchup!

Moneyline/Point Spread Picks: Denver Broncos (ML/-3.5)

Both the Colts and Broncos entered this season as playoff hopefuls but certainly haven’t lived up to expectations. With their own struggles on both sides of the ball, neither squad has been able to find their identity yet this season.

In this primetime matchup we got our money on the home team Denver Broncos. With Russell Wilson finally starting to look comfortable in the orange and navy, the Colts defence will struggle to contain the Pro Bowl quarterback. This is only amplified as the Colts defence will be without superstar linebacker Shaquille Leonard who is out due to a concussion suffered in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans.

With the Colts defence banged up, they may have a tough time sending pressure towards Wilson. This will allow Russ to cook in the pocket as he finds his receivers downfield in favourable matchups against a weak Colts secondary.

Additionally to their injury woes, Colts star running back Johnathon Taylor has been ruled out for this marquee matchup due to an ankle injury. Taylor is the heart and soul of the Colts offence and without him their production will only worsen as the game goes on.

On the Broncos sideline they are dealing with several injuries to key players of their own, most notably losing running back Javonte Williams for the season after he tore his ACL against the Las Vegas Raiders. With second-string running back Melvin Gordon III stepping up to fill the void, it remains uncertain if he can produce at the same rate as Williams was so far this season.

Take the Denver Broncos moneyline or to cover the 3.5-point spread over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football.

Over/Under Pick: Under 42.5 Total Points

It’s no secret that neither team has really found any sort of groove offensively. The Broncos have struggled to produce consistently on drives due to new personnel and at times inept coaching, and the Colts have continually failed to get their best players activated and involved over the course of a game.

Both teams possess strong run defence which negates the primary offensive game plan of both squads. If neither team can manage to find a hole in the oppositions defence early on, it could be a matchup relying on conservative plays for safe yardage each series.

With neither teams offence being reliable, the Under is the best bet when wagering on the point total for Thursday Night Football.

Best Player Prop Bets

Other then wagering on the outcome of the game, player bets are a fun way to wager on any NFL matchup. With these bets you can wager on player-specific events occurring within a matchup which can include a player scoring a touchdown, over/under on various stats and more.

Below you can find some of our best player prop bets that are sure to add some spice to your Colts VS Broncos betslip.

Courtland Sutton Over 64.5 Receiving Yards

Posting some of the best numbers of his career so far this season, wideout Courtland Sutton has been one of the lone bright spots on a porous Broncos offence. So far this season Sutton has only been held under 65 yards receiving once, all other appearances he easily eclipsed the mark.

Able to create space for himself with ease in the open field, look for Sutton to rack up big yardage in this game as the Colts struggle to find a cornerback that can matchup with the big bodied wide receiver.

Over 7.5 Total Punts

We hope it doesn’t come to this, but if it does you can at least make some scratch off of it. The over on total punts is a great wager for all NFL bettors.

The Broncos are currently averaging the second most punts per game in the NFL with 5.3 punts a contest, while the Colts remain one of the teams that punts the fewest at three punts per game. This matchup will be reliant on strong defence, look for both teams to play conservatively and punt the ball plenty in this Thursday Night tilt.
